Revolution Academy of Martial Arts & Fitness- Saturday Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Training.

“Jiu-Jitsu is first and foremost an art of combat, all the improvements that I made were with the goal of maintaining that objective.”

- Grandmaster Helio Gracie

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Students Learn:

Fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Class- Description

This class focuses on traditional and modern approaches to learning the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  The structure and nature of instruction allows new students an understanding of basic concepts and techniques necessary for building a strong foundation in this revolutionary Martial Art.

Because of the amount of time spent on detailed instruction, students have the opportunity to learn the important standup and ground fighting self-defense techniques & escapes of BJJ.  Focus and attention is structured to see beginner students understand the importance of relaxation, leverage, technique and strategy.  It is common to see advance students attend class to improve their basics too!

All students receive a well rounded education in the philosophies of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  At the end of each class, students have the opportunity to train the chokes, armlocks, positions and escapes with instructors and other students in a safe learning environment.  Come see why Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the official hand-to-hand combat system of the United States Military.  After just one class, new students (with confidence) will be able to apply and walk away with simple effective techniques against dangerous self-defense situations.

Watch The Different Aspects of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu In Action:

Here is a Brief Description of BJJ:

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling oriented Martial Art style with proficiency on ground fighting.  Since the beginning, BJJ was developed out of real fighting situations standing up or on the ground.  In that regard, the style was based on what is real instead of what could be real.  Training and learning underlined this philosophy so techniques were not designed only for sports with rules, but instead techniques were designed to effectively address the actual tactics and strategies of a real fight using practical movements instead of flashy and theatrical nonsense.  Learn more about the history of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Read More).

(Chuck Norris pictured here with the Machado Brothers 1994)

Action Star and Martial Arts Legend,
Chuck Norris brought the first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar to the U.S. in 1988.

Mr. Norris had just returned from a trip to Brazil where he trained with Rickson Gracie and Rickson’s father Helio Gracie, the Grand Master of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Chuck Norris was so impressed with their style and technique that he invited them to conduct a seminar in Las Vegas for his Karate Black Belts. This seminar brought about an enormous amount of publicity and thanks to Mr. Norris, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu found its place in the United States.  Chuck Norris today is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under the Machado Brothers.
