8:00 AM to 9:30 AM- Team Weigh ins.

9:30 AM- Doors open to the public.

9:30 AM to 9:40 AM- Morning Announcements.

9:40 AM to 10:00 AM- Rules Clinic.

10:00 AM- Tournament Begins.

Rules:
The SOUL CUP II is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Team Competition following the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) guidelines, rules and match scoring system. Review of the basic scoring system used by the IBJJF:
• THROWS AND TAKEDOWNS --------------------------- 2 points
• KNEE ON THE STOMACH -------------------------------- 2 points
• SWEEP & REVERSE FROM THE GUARD -------- 2 points
• PASSING THE GUARD ------------------------------------ 3 points
• FRONT MOUNT POSITION ------------------------------- 4 points
• BACK MOUNT POSITION --------------------------------- 4 points
• TAP-OUT – END OF MATCH. The competitor is declared the immediate winner.

Team Scoring System

The SOUL CUP II Competition Team Tournament is using a team scoring system based on how a competitior wins his match. Each match will be counted and added to the overall team count to determine the best team. Below is the team scoring system:

Submission Win = 6 points
Technical Win (15 or more points scored to win) = 5 points
Major Win (14 to 8 points scored to win) = 4 points
Minor Win ( 7 or less points scored to win) = 3 points

White belt and blue belt teams of 5 competitors will need to make the team-weight requirements to compete, while purple belts teams of 3 competitors will need to meet a lower team-weight requirement. Pre-determined backets will setup the opening rounds of action for the teams. Competitors will draw random numbers from 1 to 5 to select first round matchups. The random draw selection will apply throughout the event on an as-needed-basis.
